Work Load

Well it’s October and coursework is being issues, classes are in full swing and the work load is immense! I knew it would be harder and that there would be more work involved but not like this. My time table changes on the week, my reading lists for classes seem to be getting bigger and the legal theory getting more complex.

I still love my degree but I do seem to be struggling with Employment Law. An another issue I have came across is that because we don’t have any more specific questions just general points that will be discuss the information to absorb and shift through is HUGE. An because I always feel I don’t know enough I will get into all the technical stuff and go off my work in a huge tangent but with the speed and the work load I can’t afford to keep wasting time as I’m slipping.

I’ve cut my hours at work to the contractual hours of ten and socially I’m going out once a week to have a drink which doesn’t bother me but I need to adapt soon before I get buried with my work load.

Tips and advice is welcome J

Simple as it sounds and you probably already do this but get a routine and stick to it and enjoyed a balanced life. For example during undergrad, I got up early, worked before, between and after classes solid until 5 (break for lunch of course) Usually a set time in library and a set time for at home. and then had the evening free to socialise relax or whatever and then weekends were reserved for my shifts at work. Having something to look forward to in the evening and having targets for the day actually really improved my focus. worth a try.
But given your success last yr, I'm sure you'll have no problem tackling the workload. :)

Thanks guys! Lost I am in the process of doing so but not just in legal field I am applying everywhere and for everything at this moment see what I can get and then go from there.

Travis I actually think its a great idea treating Uni like work, so up and ready for 9 and then work till 5 with 3 five minutes tea breaks and an 1hour for lunch! Would work better than wasting time chilling with mates before lectures.
